Morning Links…

A quick daily look at what’s happening around Steelers Nation…

– Running back Rashard Mendenhall was the subject of the most recent Football Outsiders mailbag. Their fantasy projections like him quite a bit this season. [Football Outsiders]

– A closer look at Steelers players that are entering contract years in 2010, including the disgruntled — and vocal! – LaMarr Woodley. [Steelers Depot]

– Reactions to the allegations that Maurkice Pouncey received payments from an agent before the Sugar Bowl … from a Florida Gators perspective. [Scout.com]

– As far as I’m concerned, video games haven’t been the same since NHL 94 and the original Madden games for Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo (the one where the ambulance used to run over injured players on the field,  after you heard their leg snap like a wish bone). I also understand that the Madden franchise is a monster, so here are the 2011 Madden ratings for your Pittsburgh Steelers. [Post Game Heroes]

– And for your random YouTube of the day. Let’s remember the days of the Bubby Brister to Dwight Stone connection. Or let’s not, and say we did…

Whatever you guy's do…….DO NOT stop posting the old video clips…..

  • JB

    Guys –

Very nice work, I'm hyping you to whoever I can.

I'll add the following as an idea: How about a morning email subscription list to whom at least the morning links and possibly the list of (probable) topics for the today get sent? I get something like this from ESPN/Sportscenter about 7:30 each morning and it piques my interest each time.

Just a thought. If things typically aren't ready in time and/or many of the topics are gametime decisions, no big deal – take it for what it's worth.

    Hey JB,

Thanks for the idea. I can't promise we can do it right away, but we'll definitely look into to doing it. Normally at least right now we have a set of things we know we'll be doing and other things that just pop up, so the idea does seem doable.

How about announcing each item on Twitter as it goes up here. That's what it's there for.

  • IsraelP

And why do you keep asking who I am?

  • Randy Steele

I agree with Bill (as usual). The old video clips are a great idea. Can't wait to see Buzz Nutter back in action.
