Behind the Steel Curtain says “Jeff Fisher should be fired if he considers playing Kerry Collins next week against Denver.”

Only way Collins plays against Denver is if he gets traded to the Colts and Peyton Manning gets hurt. Titans play Giants.

2-0 is pretty sweet. Steelers fans should be feeling pretty damn good this morning. I still don’t understand how they won the game with their 4th QB, a line with 2 backup tackles and a backup guard, and no Big Snack.

Good job defense. Please no bitching about Bruce Arians this morning. Yes it was a conservative gameplan, but I’m not sure what else they could possibly have done.

If Casey Hampton is not yet cleared to play, whom do you cut in order to sign Leftwich (assuming Leftwich can play)? You have to decide quickly, because right now Leftwich cannot practice.

The 2nd best thing about last weekend was watching Joe Flacco shit the bed verses the Bengals. I’d have to look it up, but the Bengals seem to have beaten the Ravens a lot the last 3 years.

With Carson Palmer looking more like he did last year than he did in 2005 (his last good season) and Joe Flacco sucking, I’m liking the Steelers’ chances more and more. Of course being 2-0 is helpful as well.

I think it’s time to finally say that Troy Polamalu is worth just as much to the team as Big Ben is.

    Cols,

Before the season I would have said that Troy and Ben were as important to this team’s success. I’m not comfortable saying Troy is more important.

    Israel,

Great question, re: Hampton, Byron and who gets cut. I really have no idea. You’d think McLendon would stick around because it’s going to be 90 degrees next week too.

    • Cols714

The same importance is what I was going for. I would have said Ben is more important before the season, but the defense is playing better than it did all last season and it’s mostly because Troy is healthy. Although having Timmons kick all ass is definitely a bonus.

Ha. Crap. I meant to write above, “I’m NOW comfortable saying Troy is more important.”

You guy’s had asked, via Twitter, which was the biggest play? Here’s a Wild Card for you – the Hines Ward fight…. It was that whole game in a nutshell – poorly execute offensive play that at the same time demonstrated that we aren’t effin’ around…we came looking for a fight….It set the tone early….

    • IsraelP

I was worried that Hines was going to get tossed and lose his streak of consecutive games with at least one reception.

Peter King says he was mugged and it should have been a penalty against Tennessee.

      • http://www.steelerslounge.com/ ryan

On first viewing I thought Hines might get tossed too. Then I saw the replay, and Cortland Finnegan swinging a like a mad man trying to rip Hines’ head off. Good times.

        • SteelerBill

Finnegan is a wannabe thug….he was pissed off the entire game….Wallace, if you recall, got under his skin as well…he should have been tossed….

  • EasyLikeSundayMorning

On Israel’s q, perhaps they can do a Leftwich-like deal to cut and resign a guy after Sunday. I like the guy, but perhaps Battle.

    • IsraelP

      Or Will Allen.

  • John S.

I looked around on the internets yesterday for an answer to this question to no avail. Perhaps one of you know: What’s the record for most turnovers created by the Steelers in a single game?

  • Randy Steele

Report in the PG just noted that Dixon may be out 3-5 weeks with a torn meniscus.
So the question is simply this: Is a healthy Batch a better option than a gimpy Leftwich?

Randy,Thanks. Just put up a post.
