Steelers Lounge Podcast #3: Steelers-Titans Recap

Chris Hoke might be 15-1 as a starter, but we’re 2-0 since firing up the Steelers Lounge podcast. Just sayin’. Anyway, we’re back to talk about one of our favorite regular-season wins in some time. And before you listen, a post-game quote from Mike Tomlin to set the tone:

“Regardless of what our demise is being reported, we expect to win. We’re pleased that we’re 2-0 but we’re not astounded by it, okay? We’re capable. We’re a little bit annoyed, to be quite honest.”

Makes you want to run through a wall.

Stephenson Sylvester is the only rookie who did well? Hqave we already forgotten that Pouncey is a rookie.

Frankly, yes. I totally forgot of Pouncey as a rookie. I think I mentioned that he’s playing like he’s been in the league three or four years. But, right, he’s the default answer to that question.

Actually doing my oline breakdowns, Pouncey didn’t have a great game. Midway through third quarter I have him giving up three QB pressures. Hard to say who was the problem on the two botched snaps.

The botched snaps were Mike Pouncey’s fault.

With Batch’s fragility, I half expected to see Randle El by the end of the game. Randle El isn’t young, and there’s the risk he gets hurt behind the pourous line too. What do you do then? I guess you put in Arnaz Battle. But maybe you go single wing with Mendenhall taking the snap. I don’t you think you risk Hines Ward.

We were joking about that last night. There’s Battle, but don’t forget Heath Miller, a high school QB. I’ll be honest: for strictly comedy value, I’d love to see Casey Hampton under center.

Enjoyed the podcast as well. I thought there was at least a 50% chance of a Randle El at emergency qb once Chaz got under center. Great guy, competent qb, good candidate for coaching staff whenever he retires, but for some reason when he appears I can’t help but think of fine china.

    Great podcast. I’m loving these.
