Steelers Lounge Podcast #1: Falcons-Steelers

Me and JJ got on the ol’ Skype machine Sunday night to hit the highlights from the Week 1 Steelers victory over the Falcons. If you’re looking to kill some time at work Monday, this should do it.

We touch on the magic that is Dennis Dixon, the suddenly not-completely-awful offensive line, the key injuries, Juan Timmons wreakin’ havoc, and ROBO-PUNTER being the best special teams player on the field. Also: how about a hand for Bruce Arians’ playcalling? (Ducks.) No? Alright, well, just listen to podcast and let us know — good or bad — what you think.

Hey guys, nice job on the Podcast… just wanted to throw one comment out there in regards to how little Dennis Dixon ran the ball this week. Do you think the coaches, because of only having Batch as a backup, told him to run as little as possible to cut down on the number of hits and possible injuries to him?

Good point. I was surprised that Arians didn’t have any naked bootleg/option type plays dialed up. Dixon gained four yards all day. Same as Matty Dry Ice.

I can’t get too miffed at Reed’s performance. One miss was at extreme range. The other, well, I’m no expert, but it appeared to me that the ball was heading right through, put on its blinker, stopped, and made a right turn somewhere en-route. Yeah a professional kicker should be adjusting for wind, but even so, that ball moved in mysterious ways.

Regarding dissapointing Steelers losses, I leave you with one name, Pupunu.
