Morning Links (and Daily Thread)…

A quick daily look at what’s happening around Steelers Nation. And consider this your open thread for discussing the days events and, well, anything else that comes to mind about the Black and Gold.

– So yesterday was interesting thanks to the roster move that resulted in a new kicker. Also, be sure to check back today for a brief chat I had with Ryan Clark on Tuesday night at the One Team Tour Tailgate Event in Pittsburgh.

– Craig Wolfley has some thoughts on Skippy. [Craig Wolfley's Blog]

– More Jeff Reed reactions. [Mondesi's House]

– Hines Ward is expected to play on Sunday. [Tribune Review]

– And for your random YouTube of the day: Franco Harris.

Franco…a great runner and a very gracious man.

I think I’m officially over the whole NE beat down thing. I made up for it by watching the Pats lose decisively to the Browns the previous week. Trust me..its therapeutic.

My friend is an Oakland fan and thinks we are getting stomped again this week. The Raiders seem to have come alive and we all know the problems in Oakland haven’t been about a lack of talent. Far from it. they are playing great football and we’ll have to be ready. Another test.

I am still pissed that Franco did not make the NFL Network’s 100 Greatest Players of All-Time, and Joe Namath did. WTH? Gracious was an accurate description. I took a photo with him at the 75th Anniversary all-time team gala, had it framed and gave it to my mother for Christmas. She loved it. Franco and Jack Ham were two of the only players there who took time to seemingly take pictures with everyone. Hank Williams, Jr. did as well, but I think he was drunk.
