– There’s talk of adding 4,000 additional seats to Heinz Field. I’m sure it would take all of 15 minutes to sell those season tickets. [Tribune-Review]

– I’m stealing this from Randy Steele who stole it from Dale Lolley: the Steelers’ 2011 opponents assuming the schedule doesn’t expand to 162 games. [Dale Lolley's blog]

    Yes, please, more seats. I love Heinz field (even though I’ve only been there once), but it’s kind of sad that they built a stadium with so few seats. Clearly, the demand is there.

    The list of opponents assumes the Steelers win the division. If not, NE is replaced by the Jets and KC by SD or maybe Oakland. (I’m not sure about the details of the second place tie-breaker in the west.)

    Funny you mention that. I was thinking about BA the other day. Frankly, I don’t have any problems with what he’s done this year. Yes, the offensive has been inconsistent, but that’s more a function of the changes along the o-line than anything. Mendenhall and Wallace are having career years, the rookie wideouts have been a pleasant surprise, and Ben is Ben.

    Ryan, yeah, I’m not a leader of the anti-BA brigades. But I wonder what an elite OC would be able to do with Ben, our WRs, Heath, Mendenhall, etc. BA seems to be able to scheme to run or pass but doesn’t seem to mix them well (eg, play action after a few good runs), doesn’t use all of his strengths (Ben on designed rollouts) or adjust well ingame. His best effort seems to be about a B or B+, which is fine and enough to win a Super Bowl with our D.

    Also, if there is a Steelers coach of the year, I vote for Kugler. Getting a passable performance out of our OL has been impressive.

    Pouncey made the Pro Bowl along with Troy and Silverback. First rookie OL to make the Pro Bowl for the Steelers since 1956.

      So cool..It may be a popularity contest and a lot of players get nods on their reputations over their current playing ability..but still..It’s a nice thing to have. And Pouncey getting the nod is amazing. Not that he didn’t deserve it (I am amazed at how fast he has become a linchpin on our line) but I just thought they’d ignore a rookie. Guess not.

      Silverback…. I love it..he’s had another amazing year but got more press for being Goodell’s whipping boy than his actual play on the field. Troy..OK..Hope he gets DPOY as well but missing games near the end of the year may hurt him.

      I thought Wallace might have a shot..but not a serious one. Mendy? Yes, but he had some very serious competition.

      All in all ..not too bad considering we should be a .500 team given all that went on this year.

    Boy, did Vick ever get pounded tonight..yikes..And he’s starting to come back to earth with his throwing..not the accuracy we saw earlier and he’s starting to run more than he should (although he’s an amazing runner with “break your ankle” type moves.

    Atlanta has gone up in my estimation. REally good D. Matty Ice is good but he tries to do too much on the rollouts etc. Not that accurate on the run as he seems to think. All in all though.. a team that can play with anyone. NOrleans..I thought was the most balanced team in the NFL but they have no running game at all. And Brees fatal flaw is his lack of height. You can really knock a lot of balls down with him and that can be crucial in any game.

    Really interesting year…a lot of very good teams and the STeelers are right there. Can’t ask for much more. OK..we can ask for a better O-line..lol…And a shutdown corner to pair with Ike..And a….etc.

      Atlanta’s D was all right, but they still can’t tackle worth a squat.
