Steelers Lounge Podcast #30: Ravens-Steelers Preview — Chad Scott

Chad Scott never brought the Steelers much luck when he was on the roster, maybe he can mix things up now that he’s reached emeritus status.

Whatever, as you may have heard, it’s a pretty big week. It’s the AFC Divisional round, and the Ravens are coming to Heinz Field. It would have been nice to have Baltimore and New England beat each other’s brains out this weekend, but the Colts and the Chiefs apparently felt differently.

That’s okay, though; as Tomlin is fond of saying, you play whoever’s on the schedule. Saturday, it’s the Ravens. Today, JJ, Adam and I talk about it.

No no no! We don’t say “the law of averages says NE will lose a home game.” We say “hidden vigorish.”

A few things to remember from the 2008 playoff game.

Interception by Deshea early in the game.

Both Baltimore TDs were set up by DPI calls in or near the end zone. (Of course, without the interference, they might have had TD passes to begin with, but lets not quibble.)

The Pats lost their last home playoff game. They are not invulnerable.

For all their historic rivalry the Steelers and Ravens have only played three playoff games against each other in ’95, ’01, and ’08. Pittsburgh has won all three. One for the… pinky, I guess?

I’m with you on the Aaron Rodgers pick. He’s #3 on my QB list, and 1 and 2 are in their 30s, so he’s got more career in front of him.

Love the comments about the kids. My youngest at 20 months can say “Steelers GO!” I have no idea why the words are inverted, but I’ll take it ;)
