Steelers Lounge Podcast #39: It’s the Offseason, Part III — Willie Parker

After a week off, we’re is back. That’s right, people, it’s another Steelers Lounge offseason podcast. We recorded this Thursday morning but waited a day to post it since Adam and Ted had already published some stuff on the site. (And let’s be honest: it’s the slowest part of the year so we need to space out the content).

Plus, it gave us an opportunity to discuss Gretz’ post on defensive splash plays, and Ted’s most recent Steelers mock draft.

We also talked about the possibility of Pittsburgh trading up in the draft (Gretz and I are fine with it, JJ … not so much), potential first-round targets other than offensive line or cornerback, and why the Steelers wouldn’t take a 26-year-old with the 31st pick, even if Mel Kiper suggests as much in his most recent mock draft.

Other names that come up: Mike Pouncey, Derek Sherrod, Stephen Paea (apologies in advance for butchering his name), Rahim Moore, Carnell Lake and Ike Taylor.

But there’s more … because no offseason podcast about the Steelers would be complete without mentioning Plaxico Burress (the new/old Limas Sweed!), Tiki Barber (SHOCKED Pittsburgh’s not interested) and Carson Palmer (morbidly curious to see Jordan start in 2011).

Yapping starts promptly…
