If I were putting together a list of topics that I figured I’d never be writing about on this site, a post about Dancing With The Stars would be somewhere near the top. Thanks to Hines Ward, well … here we are. The Steelers wide receiver made his debut on ABC Monday night and from what I’ve been told by people that know about these things (translation: my mom) he received solid marks from the judges. His total score of 21 (out of 30) was topped by only Ralph Macchio (the freakin’ Karate Kid) and Kirstie Alley.
I’m not going to lie, I didn’t catch the show because I was too busy watching the Penguins blow a 4-0 lead to Detroit before finally winning in a shootout. Fortunately, the magic of the Internet captured everything for us, and if you missed it and want to view it for yourself, or watched it and simply want to watch it again, here you go. I’m sure fans in Baltimore, Cleveland and Cincinnati will have nothing to say about this when the Steelers make their annual visits to their AFC North rivals. After his performance with his partner, Kym Johnson, Ward was asked if experiencing his first loss in a Super Bowl last month motivated him to come out here and conquer this competition. Awesome. Keep your head on a swivel, Kirstie Alley, Hines is out for redemption.
