Hines Ward Out of Running for Madden Cover

Hines Ward is still going strong on Dancing With The Stars (you can watch him tonight, if you’re not watching the NCAA championship game or, for the masochists in the crowd, the Pirates)  but he has been eliminated in the tournament for the cover spot of Madden ’12. He lost his second-round “game” to 49ers linebacker Patrick Willis, receiving just 40 percent of the vote in what can be considered a rather large upset.

The good news, of course, is that Ward won’t have to deal with the Madden cover jinx (if you believe in that sort of thing).

The eight players still remaining are Peyton Hillis (Browns), Danny Woodhead (Patriots), Aaron Rodgers (Packers), Jamal Charles (Chiefs), Drew Brees (Saints), Adrian Peterson (Vikings), Willis (49ers) and Michael Vick (Eagles).

Well, at least the Browns have something to get excited about. I’m still voting for Danny Woodhead, even if he is a Patriot.

Charles is my pick of those left since he constituted an entire offense. Vick, however, is going to win it, blech.
