Leading up to April’s draft we’ll take an occasional look around the web and update you on a list of mock drafts and which players people have going to the Steelers. This is the third such update. We’re searching the Internet so you don’t have to…

The usual suspects. It seems to be pretty much assumed that Mike Pouncey isn’t going to reach the Steelers, and frankly, I’m OK with that. There’s been some talk this week from a couple of NFL general managers (which probably means it’s nothing but smokescreens and a bunch of B.S.) that as many as five quarterbacks could go in the first round, and that would be nothing but good news for the Steelers, simply because it would allow another player they would actually want to slide down to them. The best thing that could happen for Pittsburgh on draft day is if five quarterbacks and two guards (Pouncey and Watkins) went off the board before their pick came up.
The only new name on this particular list that I haven’t seen anybody associate with the Steelers is Oregon State defensive tackle Steven Paea, who Mocking The Draft has headed to Pittsburgh as an eventual replacement for Casey Hampton.
