Perhaps playing on another continent will fix everything.

I think we win this one.

    • David

As long as we don’t give away any freebies. Oh, and AP doesn’t get 150 yds.

  • calig23

That was a marvelous display of tackling ability by the Steelers. I think I counted 5 missed attempts.

So, is a 10-0 deficit too big for this offense to overcome?

  • calig23

Bell gets his first career TD. Good drive by the Steelers.

  • Cols714

Ben looks terrible throwing on the move today. OL looks good. Where is decastro?

  • calig23

    Sigh….

  • Cols714

    Adrian Peterson is good.

  • Cols714

Well. It’s official. We are really bad.

  • calig23

Mike Adams is so useless. I get that Allen is great, but still.

  • Cols714

We need an OL draft consultant. Our recent high picks do not play like high picks.

  • calig23

Lots of dubious tackling by the Steelers today.

  • calig23

They just can’t catch a break. They actually force a fumble but it both bounces forward and the Vikings recover.

  • Cols714

    Nfl is so much luck.

  • calig23

    Never mind

  • Cols714

I’ve been critical of Haley. But he’s had a good game plan today.

  • calig23

#2 for Bell. Let’s hope the ST and D don’t give one right back.

  • calig23

    Ugh. This defense is bad.

  • Cols714

    Vince Williams sucks

  • calig23

Are these guys going to win a single game this year?

  • Cols714

All those wasted picks on the OL and the DL the last dew years are killing us. You can’t draft first and second rounders who play more like 4th rounders. In their defense it’s hard to draft late every year and keep pace.

  • calig23

Bad, bad pick by Ben. This game is over.

    • Sunil R

What about Sander’s reaction to the pick? His first reaction was to jump up and down in frustration; then he turned to make a tackle. How about taking care of business first, then complaining?

  • calig23

Naturally, Woodley commits a personal foul on the first play after the pick.

  • calig23

    TD, Vikings.

  • Rob D

WE need high draft picks….like yesterday. TAlent deficit on this team vs. the better teams in the league is significant. And that’s on both sides of the ball. D lacks fire, ball hawking attitude. O just lacks talent period. Le’Veon makes you understand what you’ve been watching with Redman and Dwyer et al.
For the first time, I think I have one foot on the anti Tomlin bandwagon. He’s not progressing, IMO, as a take charge guy. Empty rhetoric doesn’t make you Vince Lombardi. The results are on the field last year and this year. WE can’t win a game.. a GAME!…in the NFL right now.

    • Sarah

Sad to say I have been unimpressed for Tomlin for longer than that.

  • Cols714

Wow. I’ve never seen a steelers team this bad. Can’t blame the coordinators or coaches. This is pure lack of talent

  • Sarah

Hard to watch. Bell the only good thing. Cripes what happened to the D???

  • Cols714

The Viking defense is getting ready to rush Ben on every down.

  • Steve

Remember when Matt Cassel started for the Patriots (Brady’s IR year), and the Steelers (read: Deebo) ate him alive when they played? Man, that seems like forever ago.

  • Cols714

Sorry Sarah and rob. You can’t blame tomlin for this. The game is about talent and the steelers don’t seem to have enough of it. All the Lombardi speeches in the world wouldn’t help.

That being said tomlin is not perfect and may not be suited for the rebuilding years. We will see.

    • Sarah

?? Didn’t say I was blaming Tomlin for this.

      • Cols714

Didn’t you comment about how inimpreaswd you are with tomlin? Sure you can parse that I’d you want I guess.

        • Sarah

Said I’d been unimpressed with him longer than Rob is all. Geez.

  • Cols714

Every steelers drive has to go 80 yards. That’s so tough for an offense.

  • Cols714

Can we please get a turnover?

  • Cols714

Cortez has not had a good game

  • Cols714

I’ll say it again. Vince Williams is terrible.

  • Cols714

Ok. How about a stop then.

  • calig23

I’m okay with the Vikings kicking here. I mean, it’s not like it’s going to really matter, but at least it gives the Steelers a chance. There’s no way the defense would have held on 4th down.

  • calig23

Even better. Field goal is wide.

  • calig23

Time for the defense to step up and give Ben a chance to tie this thing up.

  • Cols714

Ben missed Wheaton there for the TD

  • Cols714

Cortez and Williams are the two worst players on this defense right now.

  • calig23

    Well, that’s a good start.

  • calig23

Why did they spike the ball there?

  • calig23

Good recovery by Brown to catch that.

  • calig23

    More incompetency from Adams

  • calig23

    So much for that.

  • Cols714

    That’s on Ben.

  • Cols714

Yeah 0-4. Tomlin countdown starts this week.

    • David

And countdown to when we get our 1st turnover. That strip-sack by Woodley also epitomizes our season, huh?

Wins may be out of the question for the time-being. Next four games: at NYJ, BAL, at OAK, at NE.

  • David

That last drive epitomizes our season.

  • David

And…how was that not a horsecollar on Ben? Rule doesn’t apply in the pocket?
Also…how was that not a BLOW TO THE HEAD to Ben?

  • David

Our D failed miserably today. The only ones that showed heart were Troy, Keisel, and Heyward.

    • Cols714

And Taylor, Clark, gay, Woodley, hood. Those guys played well. Cortez and Vince Williams and Jarvis were really bad.

      • David

Taylor and Clark whiff on tackles that led to big plays; Woodley had a bone-headed 15 yarder. I don’t know about Hood.

        • Cols714

I don’t think Taylor and Clark whiffing on Adrian Peterson means you lack heart.

          • Intropy

Clark looked awfully slow on Peterson’s long TD run.

  • Cols714

We missed fat Casey in this one.

  • Cols714

    Maybe that’s why McClendon wasn’t a starter

  • David

Hey! Guess what? We’re only 2 games out of 1st place! Woo hoo!

  • David

Or as Sarah might say, Cheerio!

  • David

BTW, RIP L.C. We’ll always remember you.

  • Rob D

Time to talk draft. Beats talking about Cortez Allen.

  • Cols714

Clowney, a LT, a WR or Bridgewater?

    • Rob D

I guess if you took Bridgewater, you’d have to decide if Ben is on a steep decline. I don’t but I also believe he’s seen his last SB. Just about nothing has worked out the way I envisoned for this team so I am discombobulated. So many kids haven’t panned out or are late bloomers..its hard to see if its talent or scheme or both letting us down.
Evidence seems to point to a team in serious decline. If I’m the Rooneys, I’m taking a hard, long look at the HC, the OC and you have to wonder if Lebeau gets ushered out gently this offseason. Some would include Colbert but I would not. If your philosophy with the Tomlin hire included a need for a coach who could relate to younger/inexperienced players, its hard to justify a DC who remembers brush cuts and drive-ins and clothesline tackles being A-OK..lol.. This was a brutish performance by that D today. My brain is still trying to process it.
I know none of that will happen. We’ll roll with essentially the same coaches until one of them dies..I admiire loyalty, but the NFL changes so much more quickly than what the Rooney’s were used to ..you can’t stand still or something will run over you. Right now , we are road kill.

How does this get better? Against good teams, it’s going to get worse. We may be heading for a 4 win year..if that.

    • David

LT should be at the top of the list.

  • Just me

Antonio Brown slides better than most mlb players problem is he supposed to be a football player. I’ve seen him slide too many times, now I know why he is also king of the fair catch. Brown lacks courage to put it nicely. He leaves yards on the field guess he’s making business decisions. Hines please tell brown what a true steelers wr is about.

    • Intropy

How many times have I watched a player run down the field and fight for that extra two yards only to fumble? I’ll take the slide over that.

  • Eric

    Sigh. They’ve earned 0-4.

    That said everyone is overreacting.

  • Cols714

I just hope that Steeler Nation holds off on the “Fire Tomlin” talk. With his track record of 2 Super Bowl appearances, 1 win, and only 1 non-winning season, he’s coming back next year.

If they suck next year, then we can have that talk.

  • EasyLikeSundayMorning

Six teams including the Steelers and 5 playoff teams from last year (the Giants, Redskins, Falcons, Packers, Vikings) are a combined 4-19. It doesn’t seem likely to be us, but I wouldn’t be surprised if two of these teams end up in the postseason.
